# Launch Your Professional Journey: Internships and Practical Training at the DPR RI Secretariat
The Secretariat General of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) is committed to bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world professional experience. Through the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development, we provide high-achieving university students and high school/vocational students with the opportunity to undertake internships and practical field training (PKL) within the heart of Indonesia's legislative support system.
## Understanding Our Internship Programs
Our programs are designed to provide students with hands-on experience by applying their academic knowledge to the professional operations of the DPR RI Secretariat.
* Regular Internships: Tailored for university students to apply advanced academic theories to real-world bureaucratic and legislative processes.
* Practical Field Training (PKL): Designed for high school and vocational students to gain foundational exposure to professional work environments.
## Essential Registration Requirements
To ensure a smooth selection process, candidates must prepare the following documentation:
For University Students (Regular Internships)
* Official Recommendation: An internal office memo or acceptance recommendation from a unit within the DPR RI Secretariat.
* University Referral: An official letter addressed to the Head of the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development detailing the internship purpose, schedule, and chosen topic.
* Academic Records: Copies of your Study Plan Card (KRS) and transcripts.
* Professional Documentation: Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), a 2x3 cm passport photo (red background), and a copy of your student ID or National ID (KTP).
* Motivation Letter: A personal statement highlighting your strengths, weaknesses, capabilities, goals, and your preferred work unit.
For High School/Vocational Students (PKL)
* Official Recommendation: Memo or letter of acceptance from a DPR RI unit.
* School Referral: An official letter addressed to the Head of the Center for Legislative HR Competency Development.
* Administrative Proof: Current CV, a 2x3 cm passport photo (red background), and a copy of your student ID or school verification letter.
## Internship Schedules and Duration
Standard internships and PKL placements last for one month, with the possibility of extension up to two months, subject to departmental approval. We operate on a quarterly batch system:
* Batch I: January 1 – March 31
* Batch II: April 1 – June 30
* Batch III: July 1 – September 30
* Batch IV: October 1 – December 31
## The Application and Selection Process
Prospective interns must apply through our online portal. If applying as a group, each individual must complete their own registration form. Please ensure all documentation is submitted at least 30 calendar days before your intended start date. Successful candidates will receive official notification via WhatsApp Business within 14 working days of submission.
## Code of Conduct and Daily Operations
Interns become representatives of the Secretariat and are expected to uphold the BERAKHLAK core values: Service-Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative.
* Professionalism: Maintain a 5S standard—Smile, Greet, Salute, Politeness, and Kindness.
* Attire: Wear formal office attire; jeans, T-shirts, and sandals are strictly prohibited. Male interns must maintain neatly groomed hair.
* Punctuality: Office hours are from 08:00 to 16:00 (Monday–Thursday) and until 16:30 on Fridays.
* Engagement: Participate actively in assigned tasks and coordinate immediately with your supervisor if an absence is unavoidable.
## Completion and Certification
Upon concluding your placement, you must submit your final reporting requirements digitally via our portal. This includes:
1. A letter of completion from your host unit.
2. Your final internship performance evaluation.
3. A written testimonial and a comprehensive project report with documentation.
Once processed, the Secretariat will issue a digital Certificate of Completion within 20 working days.
